The Naive and the Sentimental Novelist has been released in Turkish
Having most recently published his collection of articles and memoirs; Fragments of the Landscape in September 2010, Orhan Pamuk’s new book The Naive and the Sentimental Novelist’sTurkish edition has been newly released. The Naive and the Sentimental Novelist, originally a collection of his 2009-2010 Charles Eliot Norton lecture series delivered at Harvard University, had been first published by Harvard University Press in 2010.
Orhan Pamuk has been the latest guest artist for Norton Lectures. In these lectures, which have been prepared in 2009 under the same title and given at the famous Sanders Theatre at Harvard to a public audience, Pamuk has discussed the art of the novel. Widely acclaimed and consisting of six seminars, Pamuk’s lectures focus on themes such as the processes when we read a novel, the relationship between the art of the novel and painting, the connection of the reader with the literary characters, the balance of the fiction and the reality, and the focus, plotline and the time in the novels.
